This collection of articles relating to the history of the Bruce family includes:

  1. Originally published as part of The Scottish Nation; or, the Surnames, Families, Literature, Honours, and Biographical History of the People of Scotland, by William Anderson, 1878, this article gives basic genealogical and historical information about the family, including its origins, geographical associations, and most notable family members.
  2. "The Brus Inscription at Annan", by George Neilson. Inscriptions dating from the time of Bruce are rare, but this one dates from the 14th entury and undoubtedly marks one of the Bruce fortifications associated with the King of the Scots.
  3. The Bruce sections from The Scots Peerage, by Sir James Balfour Paul, give extensive genealogical detail about the numerous branches of the Bruce family who were rewarded with titles of nobility.

This CD consists of scans of the original books or documents, which can be browsed, enlarged and printed if required. Please note: it is not searchable.
