Lots of information on that year in early settlement in Australia.

Glance at Australia in 1880
While this may have been better in other states it comes up short for Western Australia. Very few I know of in WA are actually listed and I think this would have been a pay to be included publication similar to ones I have been asked to participate in in more recent times. The result is that it has far from comprehensive coverage.
