Rev. E.K Miller was 'Incumbent' of several Church of England branches throughout South Australia including St George's at Woodforde, St Martin's at Campbelltown, St Stephen's at Willunga, St Phillip and St James at Noarlunga and St Ann's at Aldinga. The book is a history of the early Church of England in South Australia in the form of personal reminiscences from 1847 to 1894.

The book provides an interesting primary source account of the early church in South Australia and also provides interesting insight into life, culture and religion in South Australia at this time.
