The book is in four volumes, so there is so much information here about places in England and their history that one could be kept reading for days. I like the ease if finding my places of interest as it is all alphabetical. I have ancestors from both sides of my own family as well as from my late wife’s family who lived in various parts of England. The value of this book is not only in the then current information (1840) about the towns but also the early history of the areas. This is a well-spent investment.

Fabulous Book if you want to better understand where your Ancestors have lived.
My Ancestors were Agricultural labourers so they moved around quite regularly in the County.
