To compile this book Aboriginal residents of the Gascoyne were interviewed and photographed, starting with Dolly 'Nanna" Bidgiemia and the team assigned to compile it gradually worked their way through the Yammatji community members down to the 'younguns' aged between 40-50.

So many sad tales, so much residual anger and so much unnecessary cruelty. This whitefella shame needs to be addressed and our history books re-written to explain why throwing money at the ‘aboriginal problem’ is not making it go away.
