Product Description

Media: DATA CD - 1 CD (120 pages + 461 pages)
Author: L. Boyd
Year: (1898 & 1908)
Publisher: ScotPress

Originally published in 1898 and revised in 1908, this CD contains both the first and second editions of this book. Both are two distinct editions of the same work, and together they form a study of the Irvines spanning both Scotland and the United States. The work begins with a history of the Irvines or Irwins or Irvings in Scotland. There follow chapters on the derivation of the name, the Irvines of Drum, the Irvines in Ireland and the United States.

The work is most thorough with reference to 19th century US lines of Irvines, with substantial genealogical and historical information. The predominant emphasis is on the southeast, and there is considerable material on the related families of McDowell, Fox, Higginbotham, Tucker, Knotts, Browder, Callaway, Lynch and McElroy.

This CD consists of scans of the original book, which can be browsed, enlarged and printed if required. Please note: it is not searchable.
