The History in the book by Alexander Laing, is that of a river, the Don, and the lands, families, and events associated with this particular part of Aberdeenshire down to the Grampian Mountains on the south side of the river. The region was one in which many great families were settled and over which national forces often tramped. In the region, the Forbes and Gordon families were particularly important, and matters relating to them are to be found throughout the book. The author moves through the region, presenting historical and genealogical information on the families, where they settled, their fate, and the great events in which they took part. It is in that sense a local narrative history with much information about local families to be found within its pages.

This CD consists of scans of the original book, which can be browsed, enlarged and printed if required. Please note: it is not searchable.
