Travel back in time to the early 1950s - to Woodville, a growing suburb of Adelaide in South Australia.

Hop off a living, breathing steam train at Woodville Station, its platforms awash with smoke. Descend into its bunkerlike subway and come up into the light. Hurry on by good old Woody Primary and the remnants of Connor Farm and eventually you'll reach our old familiar street.

Wedged between Findon Road and oval Avenue, Glenhuntly Street (spelt with an "e" back then) was a thriving local community.

Was it an experiment in socialism within the most conservative of mindsets of some, and all living by the Golden Rule? Let the reader decide. Whatever the answer, it seems a formula lost in the busyness of today.
