This book is a follow on from "The Hidden Thread: Huguenot Families in Australia", and provides more detailed descriptions of 30 families of Huguenot origin who settled in Australia. It details every type of settler from convicts to aristocrats, and shows how Huguenot traditions of hard work and self-determination allowed them to flourish, despite many adverse circumstances and set-backs.

These people, descendants of the first refugees, because migrants to a far country on the other side of the world. They cam from many countries (principally England, Ireland, Germany, India and the Netherlands) and contributed enormously to their new land - Australia. The book includes maps and an index.
