This history begins as a study of the Irish line of the family, but it continues and becomes a more comprehensive work which investigates the family’s earlier existence in Scotland, and which ultimately extends over six centuries. The original line settled in Midlothian and later in Galloway, but was then drawn into the Plantation of Ulster in the early 17th century. They settled in Co. Tyrone, and there married with the Eliots, Montgomeries, Moores, and Lawlors. Overall, this is an excellent family history, with many pedigrees, illustrations, color plates of arms. and other documentation.
