An absolute goldmine of information, Police Gazettes are a unique, useful and extremely fascinating resource for local, family and social historians and researchers in other fields throughout Australia. As they were compiled to be distributed amongst the Police Force only, these Gazettes contain details and information that can not be found anywhere else.

They include information on warrants issued, changes in the police force which are all listed (promotions, demotions, resignations, dismissals, retirements, deaths etc). Information is also given on housebreak-ins, robberies, arson, murders, lost and found items, deserters, escaped prisoners, missing friends, and reports on those released. Notices from interstate police gazettes are sometimes included.

This years issues also includes Hawkers and Auctioneer licences granted, as well as some photographs of those wanted, and those discharged.

A vast resource of information on people and events in Queensland during 1921. Often something found in a Police Gazette is either totally unknown to the researcher, as the family kept it quiet, or it can verify a family story.
