Pugh's Directories of Queensland, are one of the the best known, but also hardest to come by of the Queensland directories.
This Almanac and Directory for 1866 was the sixth year of publication, and consists of not only a Brisbane Suburbs Directory, and a Country Directory, but also details on 45 other topics. Auditor-Generals Department, Banking Establishments, Calendar, Charities, Consuls, Electric Telegraph, Immigration, Law and Legal Profession, Medical Practitioners, Military and Volunteers, Newspapers, Oddfellows, Ports and Harbours, Royal Family, Stations and more are all included. This is an incredible publication that would have been 'the' book to consult for just about anything if you were living in Queensland in this era.
This makes for interesting reading for those that had family in Queensland during this period.
High quality scanned images of the whole of the original book. This CD has been bookmarked for easy navigation, and pages can be searched, browsed, enlarged and printed out if required.
