Year: (1914) 2008
Publisher: Archive Digital Books Australasia
A 1914 list of all named railway stations in Queensland listed on their appropriate line and with the meaning of their name. Such a publication may well be the only surviving source for this information.
Arranged in alphabetical order of the station name, the information provided is listed in three columns: station, railway and meaning of name. Find out which railway stations have been named after local families in the region, or rivers and creek. There are others named after eminent personalities, as well as those named after a turtle and another after a pidgeon. A small book, but it is interesting reading.
High quality scanned images of the whole of the original book. This CD has been bookmarked for easy navigation, and pages can be searched, browsed, enlarged and printed out if required.
