October 18, 1852 was the 85th anniversary of the birth of the city of Gympie and the discovery of gold by James Nash, which made it all possible.

To celebrate this anniversary, this small booklet was produced, and includes a collection of memoirs of early pioneers which first appeared as articles in the 'Gympie Times' in 1938.

In a collection of 24 articles, you will find details on first settlers, aboriginies, growing up in the town, the chinese, stores, a women faces the hardships, Inglewood Hill, entertainment, mulberries, trips in the dray, on the road, life as a pit-sawyer and more.

This is a valuable collection of local reminiscences of a past era.

High quality scanned images of the whole of the original book. This CD has been bookmarked for easy navigation, and pages can be searched, browsed, enlarged and printed out if required.
