This directory covers the northern districts of Queensland listing thousands of entries for 1959 arranged alphabetically for each of the exchanges.
It contains alphabetical lists of people and companies together with their telephone numbers and street address for each town or suburb throughout northern Queensland. Many entries also include the individual telephone owner’s occupation. As well there is a Classified Business & Professional Section – similar to what we now call the Yellow Pages.
It also lists call rates and hours, telegram rates, how to place a call or telegram, postal rates and general telephone information. It is a useful resource giving extra insight into the lives of those living in this era.
