Looking back over six years of "tremendous effort and gallant service". The stories in Victory Roll tell of some of the exploits of the RAAF during the final year of the war and, since anonymity is no longer necessary, the names of the authors of each article accompany the tale.
The fifty-five stories encompass many battle areas as illustrated by the following selection of articles: Morotai and Points West, Wewak Deal, Battle for Borneo, Anzacs on Bougainville, Return to Timor, Air Victory Over Burma, D-Day at Dedaye, Lifeline to China, Bangkok - Bang On!, First Over Malaya, and Victory at the Alps. One section of the book describes the Empire Air Training Scheme and the bearing it had on the ultimate course of the war – Australia had trained 10,882 pilots.
Again, an Honour Roll is included listing the names and awards received by members of the members of the RAAF. The names of recipients of a number of French, American, Polish and Dutch awards are also given.

As with other books in the series there is an excellent selection of colour and black and white photographs and sketches highlighting people, places and planes. It is a valuable resource and a great read for all interested in military history.
