Written in 1914 by James Alexander McClure, this book has now been reproduced and is available as a facsimile copy on CD-ROM.
Originally a Manx family, the McClures long have been associated with the families of the Highlands and Islands. This history includes much material on the family in Ulster and in the United States, particularly Virginia. There are additional chapters though, on McClures in North and South Carolina, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania. Related families include Alexander, Baxter, Bumgardner, Mitchel, McCown, Pilson, Draper, Ingles, Gilkeson, Humphreys, Steele, Tate, and Wallace.
Also included on this CD is "McClure Family Records: An Account of the First American Settlers & Colonial Families of the Name of McClure", by William M. Clemens.
