These seven directories cover telephone directories for various districts of Queensland – South & South-Western Districts (1931, 1934, 1936, and 1943), Brisbane (1947) and Northern Districts (1959). They each contain lists of thousands of telephone numbers which are arranged in a very similar way to the telephone books of today.
The directories contain alphabetical lists of people and companies together with their telephone numbers for each town and suburb throughout these particular districts. Some entries also include the individual telephone owner’s occupation or street address.
They also include call rates and hours, telegram rates, how to place a call or telegram, postal rates, wireless licence information and general telephone information as well as a section on trades and professions.
This CD contains high quality scanned images of the each of the original books, and they have been bookmarked for easy navigation. Pages can be searched, browsed, enlarged and printed out if required.
