This family history selection provides a variety of materials relating to the MacArthurs. Included are:
- The MacArthur section, giving an introductory history of the family, from The Scottish Nation; or, the Surnames, Families, Literature, Honours, and Biographical History of the People of Scotland, by William Anderson.
- The MacArthur section from The Highland Clans of Scotland: Their History and Traditions,
by George Eyre-Todd, 1923, gives a general introduction to the clan’s
history and provides a brief survey of the family, its origin, its role
in national affairs, and its place by the early 20th century
- McArthur Family Record, by T. E. Sikes (1911) details
the descendants of Daniel McArthur (born in Scotland in 1741) and his
wife Jennette (née McArthur, born in Scotland). In 1774, they emigrated
to Robeson County, North Carolina.
This CD consists of scans of the original books or documents, which can be
