Originally published 1909, this is a classic account of the Highlands and Highland clans, particularly in the 17th and 18th centuries. It contains a roll of landlords and baillies from 1587, names of Highland chiefs and landlords as of 1587, badges of the clans, war cries, General Wade’s report on the Highlands in 1724, a survey of the families loyal to either the Jacobite cause or the monarchy, detailed information on the clans at the time of Culloden, the Disarming Act of 1746, the Highland campaigns of the 17th and 18th centuries, Killiecrankie, the revolutions on 1715 and 1745, and a wealth of additional materials. Included as well on the CD is the hand-colored clan map which appeared in the original book.
