The full title of this publication is "A List of Persons Concerned in the Rebellion Transmitted to the Commissioners of Excise by the Several Supervisors in Scotland in Obedience to a General Letter of the 7th May 1746, and a Supplementary List with Evidence to Prove the Same".

Originally published 1890, the majority of this publication consists of lists of those accused of joining the uprising of 1745-46 and taken prisoner after the battle of Culloden Moor in the early spring of 1746. An excellent introduction provides a succinct analysis of the Jacobite cause, the character of Bonnie Prince Charlie, and the appeal which his cause made to those in Scotland who supported him. The list is alphabetical by county, and contains the name, occupation or clan affiliation, residence, parish, reason for joining, and the value (if any) of the prisoner’s estate.

Without question, this is an excellent source of biographical information on those taken captive after the collapse of the Jacobite rebellion.

High quality scanned images of the whole of the original book. This CD has been bookmarked for easy navigation, and pages can be browsed, enlarged and printed out if required. Please note, this CD is not searchable.
