The 'Western Australian Tourist Guide and Accommodation Directory' was published for distribution throughout Australia and overseas. It was the most comprehensive and informative guide of its type. Issued in 1929, it gives a unique insight into the Western Australia of the era.
Of it's 229 pages, 86 contain photographs showing the state as it was. The Accommodation Directory lists towns alphabetically for easy reference, The information is similar to a gazetteer - size of town, other locations nearby, whether it has rivers or lakes running through it, how many miles from Perth, fares from other regions to this place, population, and any other features of the town.
Hotels are then listed, together with their phone numbers, owners' names, how many it accommodates, and the rates.
The photographs alone are worth the cost of the CD, but together with the adverts, and accommodation guide, anyone with even a vague interest in Western Australia in the 1920s will find it useful.
