Comprises deaths of inmates specifically from Glenside Hospital, the Adelaide Asylum and Magill Home, from 1879-1951, with gaps. A number of the later deaths occurred 'outside' these Institutions, the patients having been sent to the Adelaide Hospital or returned to their own homes. Details generally include name(s), date of death and admission, age, marital status, birthplace, religion, occupation, previous address and responsible relative. Some records also include cause of death, arrival in SA and transfers to/from other institutions eg. gaols. These records have been extracted from a variety of public sources and consolidated into one alphabetical sequence consisting of some 3600 entries.
