Travellers who venture into the northern and eastern parts of Western Australia enter a world that is still very much a frontier. The landscapes are spectacular by unforgiving; the climatic extremes test personal endurance; and there are few of the facilities that one takes for granted in closely settled area. If you were to think about just what the conditions in these areas would have been like in the late 1800s and early 1900s, the challenges that faced visitors and residents in the areas were enormous.
The experiences related in this book are told in a simple and brief manner by a man who was indefatigable carrying out his duties, and in man people's opinion was on of the greatest 'Bushmen' that wore the uniform of a Police Officer.
