Nomenclature of South Australia was written by Rodney Cockburn in 1908 and includes the history of about 1,200 names of places throughout South Australia.
This interesting book contains thousands of legends and facts behind the names and places of towns throughout the state, making it a historical classic. The book makes for fascinating reading, each entry being a few paragraphs long and containing interesting information gleaned from many different people and records, about the establishment of these places. The end of each chapter includes a section containing letters to the editor excerpted from newspapers, regarding the names and origins of places.
A great reference work for all interested in the history of South Australia.
