This genealogical and historical account begins with a study of the
ancient family of Annand of Sauchie, and continues with the study of
Broun of Sauchie, of Balquharne and Finderlie, of Carsleuch, of
Coulstoun, and finally, Shaw of Sauchie. As such, this collection of
information seeks to define the precise relationship of the Brouns of
Cumber-Colstoun in Haddington, the Brouns of Fife, and thirdly the
Brouns of Sauchie. These families were related to Shaw, Forrest of
Orchard, Brown of Fordel, Bruce of Powfoulis, and Lindsay of Corstoun.
