'Compiled and issued by the Queensland Government' in 1914, this book was written to advertise Central Queensland to the outside world. It advertises the region's 'illimitable' possibilities in its 'marvelous pastoral and mineral resources, its unbound agricultural possibilities and its scenic beauties.' In doing so it sets forth a detailed account of settlers life in Central Queensland.
'Central Queensland' has many different sections containing statistics and information on: the geography of the land, its industries, pastoral, grain and fruit farming, public services, infrastructure, mining, water resources, education, immigration and the experience of settlers
It gives information on everything a prospective settler would want to know about the area and thus provides very valuable information for the genealogist or historian on the life and experiences of early Queensland settlers.
