  • Genealogical and Historical Records of The Baillies of Inverness, Scotland and Some Descendants in the United States of America, by J.G.B. Bulloch (originally published 1923, 86 pages)
  • The entry for Baillie of Monkton, from A Genealogical Account of the Principal Families in Ayrshire, More Particularly in Cunninghame, volume I, by George Robertson (originally published 1823, 13 pages)
  • Information on the Baillie Family extracted from The Scottish Nation; Or, the Surnames, Families, Literature, Honours and Biographical History of the People of Scotland, by William Anderson (originally published 1878, 8 pages).

Branches of the family were found in Hoprig and Lamington, Carphin, Parbroth, Park, Jerviston, Dunrogal, Carnbroe, Castlecarry and Provand. Baillie of Jerviswoode held the earldom of Haddington.
