This work provides an overall clan history, then a look at the MacQueens of Corrybrough, cadet families, and a section on the MacGillivrays. Although the MacQueens have long been associated with the Clan Chattan confederation, their origins lie in the Hebrides. They first moved into the Strathdearn region in the early 15th century, when Malcolm Beg Mackintosh, 10th chief of the Mackintoshes, married Nora MacDonald of Moidart. As was the custom, many of her kinsmen came with her at her marriage, and among them were the progenitors of the Clan Chattan line.
