Police Gazettes are a unique, useful and extremely fascinating resource for
local, family and social historians and researchers in other fields throughout
Australia. Compiled to be distributed amongst the Police Force only, these
Gazettes therefore contain details and information that can not be found
anywhere else.
They include details on rewards, housebreak-ins, robberies, arson, murders,
lost and found items, deserters, escaped prisoners, missing friends, stolen cars
and motorbikes, reports on those apprehended and released, licences for both hawkers
and
wool dealers, changes in the police force, inquest verdicts ... and so
much more.
