Charles Rogers published this book in 1877. It was first published in 1873, this is a second revised edtion of this family history and genealogy. The geographical area of concern is Strachan, on the western borders of Kincardineshire. The Strachan family originated in Aberdeenshire and Banffshire, but resettled in the area from which they ultimately took their name. The Wise family, also of the Strachan region, interacted with the Strachans over the centuries. This work details the history of these two inter-related families in considerable scholarly detail, with much information on their position, fortune, and place in Scottish national and local affairs.
