Similar to the Cyclopedias that are available on each Australia state, this one covers the Pacific Islands of Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Tahiti and the Cook Islands. Divided into two main sections, the first containing a cyclopedia of Fiji and the second containing smaller Cyclopedias of Samoa, Tonga, Tahiti and the Cook Islands. These Cyclopedias are a vast resource of historical, social and biographical information on the islands concerned.
Cyclopedias generally include information on the history, the people, the industries and trade, as well as the culture and the geography of the island, not to mention many biographies.
You will find hundreds of illustrations, the larger number of these being portraits of those whose biographies are included. These are not just the rich and famous, but include a high percentage of the ordinary citizens in each community.
Originally produced by Archive CD Books Australia in 2006, this title has now been remastered and re-released, and includes better searching capability. This CD contains high quality scanned images of the whole of the original book, and has been bookmarked for easy navigation. Pages can be searched, browsed, enlarged and printed out if required.
