'Forty-Five Years Experience in North Queensland' is the written memoirs of W.R.O. Hill from when he was a young boy in England from 1844 through to his experiences in Queensland in 1861 to 1905.
The book records incidents and adventures from his life as the son of a prison governor to his life as a Mounted Policeman, Station Manager and worker, and Police Magistrate throughout North Queensland.
Giving accounts of many people he met and details of several major crimes the author was involved in solving, this book is an interesting read and will prove useful to people interested in early Queensland’s history from an original point of view.
