Heraldic visitations were inspections undertaken by Heralds which went from county to county throughout England, Wales and Ireland, checking the validity of a persons use to a coat of arms. The purpose of the Heralds was to regulate and register the coats of arms of nobility and gentry and boroughs, and to record pedigrees to prove (or disprove) lineage. These visitations took place from 1530 to 1688, and their records (akin to an upper class census, and showing a multi-generations pedigree) provide important source material for historians and genealogists.

Compilation of pedigrees and heraldry for the families of Huntingdonshire. Complete with an index of names.

High quality scanned images of the whole of the original book. This CD has been bookmarked for easy navigation, and pages can be searched, browsed, enlarged and printed out if required.
