Coronavirus Update

An update for Gould Genealogy and History customers

21/11/20 SOUTH AUSTRALIA END LOCKDOWN EARLY
Well, our statewide lockdown has finished early, so unless anything changes, we'll be reopening our shop again on Monday 23/11.

18/11/20 SOUTH AUSTRALIA STARTS LOCKDOWN
Due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19 in Adelaide, today the State government and health department have advised that all non-essential businesses are to close for the next 6 days. So from Thursday 19th November 2020 our shop will be closed for at least the next week, but we will still be doing what we can from home.

The shutdown will obviously cause delays with deliveries, and we do apologise for that. And we will do our best to get everything in and out as soon as we can.

If you wish to contact us over the next week, it’s best to do so by email: inquiries@gould.com.au, as we will be monitoring this. We will be regularly assessing the closure and will reopen when SA Health and the government say that it is safe for us to do so.

We thank you for your patience. Stay safe everyone, we will get through this!

26/8/20 AUSTRALIA POST UPDATE RE: VICTORIAN DELIVERIES AND FATHER'S DAY
The following is an announcement from Australia Post: "Over the last three weeks, Australia Post has experienced a significant increase in demand as Victorians have increased their online buying due to stage 4 lockdowns. So much so, that our parcel volumes in Victoria for August are up approximately 150% year-on-year compared to the national average of 90%.

At the same time, our business has been required to make additional adjustments in our processing and deliveries workforce to comply with the State Government's COVID safe restrictions.

From the very start of the pandemic, we have been clear that our strategy has been to protect our people, serve our customers and safeguard the business. Safety of our people is not-negotiable and the current situation in Victoria, with massive volumes and severe congestion in our network, has us at a point of concern for the safety of our workforce. To make sure we can still safely deliver for your customers, the following changes are immediately necessary:

No Weekend Collections in Victoria - There will be no collections in Victoria this weekend – the last pickup for the week will be Friday 28 August 2020 by 8pm and the next collection will be Monday 31 August 2020 commencing from 5am.

Victoria destined Parcels - With the massive demand and workforce capacity constraints, we foresee an additional 3 day delay for deliveries in Victoria. This is both within and into Victoria.

This means, any lodgements made in other States destined for Victoria may be held in those States for up to 3 business days to allow Victoria to work through the present demand.

Father's Day - For deliveries across Australia, we recommend at least the following lodgement dates for delivery before Father's Day on Sunday 6 September 2020:
Parcel Post and letters – Friday 28 August 2020
Express Post parcels – Monday 31 August 2020
For items lodged after these dates, whilst we will try our best, we do not expect to be able to meet delivery for Father's Day. We will keep you updated regularly over the next few weeks and anticipate reviewing the situation in line with the easing of level 4 restrictions.

We appreciate the implications of these decisions and want to assure you we are doing our very best within these extremely challenging times."

4/8/20 ONGOING DELAYS
Australia Post is still experiencing delays with delivering mail due to COVID-19, less flights, as well as an immense increase in mail, not to mention the higher level lockdowns in Melbourne and Sydney at present. We are also finding some supplier orders are taking longer to arrive, particularly those from Victoria (Australia), and also the US. Again, we thankyou for your continued patience.

6/7/20 STILL SOME DELAYS
We just wanted to advise you that Australia Post is still experiencing delays with delivering mail due to  the COVID-19 restrictions, less flights, as well as an immense increase in mail. We are also finding some supplies (both local and overseas) are taking longer to arrive. We do thank you for your patience.

14/5/20 OUR SHOP HAS REOPENED
Our shop at Ridgehaven, South Australia is now reopen again. And our hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm. Feel free to pop in and stock up on your genealogy supplies, or simply come for a browse and some advice.

17/4/20 UPDATE FROM AUSTRALIA POST
We’re experiencing significant delivery delays due to limited flights, social distancing requirements and increased parcel volumes. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. Effective 20 April 2020, we're temporarily suspending the Express Post guarantee of a refund and replacement envelope or satchel for articles that don’t meet the next business day delivery standard.

25/3/20 WE'VE TEMPORARILY CLOSED OUR SHOP, BUT WE'RE STILL OPEN
We would like to reassure our customers that during this challenging time, we are doing our best to maintain business as usual, and to deliver your orders in a timely fashion. As a company of family historians and book lovers, we know how good it is to relax with a good book, or get stuck into some research during this time of self isolation and social distancing.

We have taken measures to protect our customers and staff from COVID-19, and have temporarily closed our shop, but our website is available 24/7. Our sales team are now working remotely, and are able to help with any queries you have by email (inquiries@gould.com.au), as well as sending off your orders.

Please be assured that we are working hard to fulfill orders as quickly as we can, as are Australia Post, but due to lockdowns both in Australia and overseas, there is a possibility of supplies being held up. So we just ask you to please be patient.

To keep up to date with the latest genealogy products you can subscribe to our shop email newsletter www.gould.com.au, or for the latest genealogy news subscribe to www.gouldgenealogy.com.
