Remember dropping into the Coles Cafeteria on Bourke Street for a feast of rashers, sausages and mash, with gravy, from the bain marie? Or catching a 'red rattler' into the city? Eating a hot jam doughnut from the American Doughnut Kitchen van at the Queen Vic markets? If you answered yes to any of these questions, chances are you are part of the Melbourne Baby Boomer generation.
'Melbourne Remember When' will take you on a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Through stories and pictures Bob Byrne transports you back in time to a Melbourne that has long since disappeared, the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s. The streets and buildings, the personalities and landmarks, the traditions and the times. The memories will come flooding back.

Review:
‘Each photograph in this wonderful collection powerfully evokes half-remembered truths, half-faded yearnings, at the same time tempting us with a honeysweet nostalgia for places and times that can never be found again.’ — Steve Vizard

Memory Lane
What a wonderful collection of memories and photographs. One of the photos on the front cover - was the main driver for me to buy. As my father worked at Hoadleys for 45 years. I recommend this to anyone who lived in Melbourne as a child growing up
