"The Annals of The Parish or the Chronicle of Dalmailing During the Ministry of the Rev. Micah Baldwhidder written by Himself, Arranged and Edited by John Galt, Illustrated in Colour by Henry W. Kerr. This second edition of the successful book was published in 1911, a forms an interesting overview of the life and times of the Scottish parish town of Dalmailing in Ayrshire, as it was in the 18th century, as told by the minister.

It chronicles the trials and tribulations of the times, from the open hostility of the parishioners to their new minister to their tearful farewell to him on the day of his last sermon, fifty years later in 1810.

It is an excellent example of social history in the parish.
