Our Yorkshire 1891 CD set comes on 32 CDs in a presentation flip lid box, we could have released this on 6 CDs but to do so would give images that would have lost all the fine pen strokes, this would make large areas unreadable, we hope like us you're not willing to compromise on quality. All of our census image CDs are scanned in house and images are assessed for quality. This procedure involves rescanning faint or dark areas several times on different settings to achieve the optimum results. We also order photocopies if images are found to be missing from the fiche/film or are too poor to scan properly. Be aware that other companies just send out the material to be scanned by a bureau this makes the assesment procedures we use impossible to implement.
Our Census products come with Area and where available, Street indexes. We run Name Indexing projects and provide these for sale once they reach a reasonable size to publish.'
These CDs allow you far greater ease of use than the original microfiche. Linked indexes allow you to browse the areas and streets where your ancestors possibly lived. The CDs are digitised images from the microfiche. Where missing pages or poor images have been detected additional images taken from the books have been added. Features include: magnify an area to see further detail, print the current page, alphabetic street indexes, and searchable area indexes.
