| Aboriginal people have a strong cultural heritage and a continuing interest in their past history. Now there is an awakening of interest in things Aboriginal by many other Australians and by people in other nations.
To date there has been a lack of written material about Aborinal history and this has frustrated both Aboriginals and non-Aboriginals who seek to learn of this important part of Australia's heritage.
Carnarvon writer-artist-photographer, Bryan Clark, has demonstrated a genuine interest in Aboriginal people and their culture. His commitment to ensuring that the human side of Aboriginal history is recorded accurately is unmatched.
To compile this book Aboriginal residents of the Gascoyne were interviewed and photographed, starting with Dolly 'Nanna" Bidgiemia and the team assigned to compile it gradually worked their way through the Yammatji community members down to the 'younguns' aged between 40-50.
