Now released as a second edition, this CD-ROM is an index to over 12,100 names of those killed or injured in mining accidents in Victoria from the earliest known up to recent times. For those that are listed, you will find details of names, date of accident, age, and marital status, number of dependent children (if known), the cause of the accident (fall of earth, cage accident etc), the mining district, division and mine (if known), as well as the source of the information. Inquest numbers are also included where known.
Divided into two indexes, the name index is sorted by alphabetically by surname, the place index, has sorted the entries into seven categories (Ararat, Ballarat District, Beechworth, Castlemaine, Gippsland, Maryborough, Sandhurst, and Unknown).
Useable on any PC or Macintosh computer, it requires an internet browser, and a CD-ROM.
