If you're looking for family in England, and you are researching earlier
1837, parish records are one of the 'core' records to be consulting, but
accessibility hasn't always been the easiest. Finally we are now seeing some of
these parish records scanned and made accessible on CD.
Originally published in 1902 for the Corporation of Brighton as they could
see a need to publish some of their parish records, because the originals were
'in a poor state', this CD contains parish records Brighton in Sussex, and
includes christenings and baptisms 1558-1683, births and baptisms 1653-1701,
marriages 1559-1701 and 1587-1689, and publication of contracts 1653-1659.

Note: When you get back beyond 1752 in England, remember that dates on
records and documents will be in the Julian calendar, not the current Gregorian.
Officially the Gregorian calendar was introduced in October 1582, but the
changeover was slow, and England did not adopt this calendar until September
1752. If you wish to convert them you can do so using any converter like this

The CD contains digitally enhanced images of the whole of the original book,
which is fully searchable, bookmarked, and is printable.
