At the June 2001 Meeting of the Senior Surveyors Group of the Institution of Surveyors NSW Incorporated, it was discussed that there was not there was not very much information about individual Surveyors that could be readily sought from the one central point. Members who had discussions with other family historians discovered that most people did not know where to find any records on Surveyors. By the close of that meeting, it had been decided to create an archive of the names of all of the Surveyors who had been “Appointed, Licensed or Registered” in the Colony or State of New South Wales since 1788 to the present time and to investigate their history. This DVD-ROM is the result.
The DVD-ROM contains about 6,530 pages of information on the Surveyors in New South Wales from 1788 to present. Some entries are a single page only, some run for 10 or more pages.
