Strathendrick is a district or region in Stirlingshire which contains the parishes of Fintry, Balfron, Killearn, Drymen, Buchanan, and Kilmarnock. This massive history begins with chapters on the ecclesiastical history of individual parishes and then proceeds with chapters on the families of Graham of Fintry, Galbraith of Culcreuch, Napier of Merchiston and Edinbellie, Napier of Culcreuch, and Napier of Ballinkinrain. The lands of Finnick, the estates of Aucheneck and Dalnair, the Spittal lands of Letter, Parkhall, Balgair, the Glenbogis, Balglas, Burneschogill, the Ledlewans, and Blairoer conclude this study of estates and lands which passed through numerous families through the centuries. Finally, there are seven chapters on the Buchanans, in particular the Buchanans of Buchanan, Leny, Drummikill, Carbeth, Arnpryor, Spittal, and Auchmar. Overall, it is an amazing history, absolutely packed with information on this region and its families.
