Staffordshire, situated in the centre of England, is one of the larges Shire Counties. It is a county of varied landscapes from the historic areas of early industry to the productive farmlands, set in rich and beautiful countryside.
The true flavour of the County is still to be found in its villages. The Staffordshire Village Book describes of 150 of them, recalling the history, people and events which make each one unique.
Written by local village Women's Institues' and compiled by the Staffordshire Federation of Women's Institutes, the book is rich in stories, anecdotes and atmosphere. It introduced the reader to a flourishing world of rural charm and will be a welcome companion both on the bookself and in the car.
