Though my great grandfather arrived in Brisbane two years after this Almanac, it gives a clear indication of what life might have been like in the colony at the time. It includes costs, such as postage, frequency of transport, including shipping and who was who in positions of responsibility in government or private enterprise. There is even a monthly summary of events from the newspapers of the time. A bonus in this digitised copy is that the original owner had handwritten notes in the Diary and Memoranda pages.
