Another volume in the Scottish Genealogy Society's series of monumental
inscriptions, this volume covers the Portobello Old Churchyard at
Portobello, the St Mark's Episcopal Church at Portobello, the Restalrig Church
and the Jewish section of the Piershill Cemetery.
Some monuments from these churchyards were transcribed in 1960s, but the rest
have been done so in 2003. Although most titles in this series list the burials
from 1855 onwards, this one actually lists some earlier 1800s burials as well.
Each burial ground has a map with all the graves numbered. Each entry has the
full transcription on the headstone.
A valuable source of information for those whose ancestors lived and died in
this region of Scotland.
