From 1855 compulsory registration has been in force in Scotland, and records are maintained by the Registrar General of all births, marriage and deaths in the county. Post-1855 inscriptions have been recorded here if they mention a surname appearing also on an adjacent pre-1855 stone, and for some of the smaller burial grounds, all inscriptions have been recorded.
This compilation of gravestone inscriptions and notes is intended to be of assistance to anyone interested in family history in the Upper Strathearn and Trossachs area of Perthshire. Inscriptions which indicate only deaths after 1855 are omitted unless they share a surname with a nearby pre-1855 stone, and thus may represent relatives.
Each cemetery has a map with numbers on it representing each gravestone, which is then numbered in the transcription so you can see exactly where it is in relation to everything else.
This volume, the second of a two volume series covering South Perthshire, covers the following cemeteries: Aberfoyle, Balquhidder (Loch Doine), Blackford (Gleneagles, and Tullibardine), Callander (Brig o' Turk, Buchanan, Glengyle, Kilmahog, Portnellan, and St Brides), Comrie (Dundurn, Dunira, Leckine, Tullichettle, and Aberuchill), Dunblade (Episcopal St Mary's, and Kilbride), Killin (Ardeonaig, Innis Bhuidhe, Strathfillan, Borland, Finlarig, Suie, Stuck, and Auchlyne), Kilmadock (Doune), Kincardine (Norrieston), Lecropt (Keir), Monzievaird (Ochtertyre, and Strowan), Muthill (Ardoch, Braco Free Church, Innerpeffray, and Strageath), Port of Menteigh (Inchmahone, and Gartmore).
