This volume includes transcripts of all known accessible inscriptions in the North Eastern Parishes of Fifeshire which mention deaths before 1855 (the year in which the registration of births, deaths and marriages became compulsory in Scotland). In addition, some inscriptions not mentioning any pre-1855 deaths have been included if it seemed from their proximity to the pre-1855 stones bearing the same surname that there was probably some relationship between the two families.

This book is intended to be of help to those interested in Scottish genealogical research. It is a record of all known pre-1855 accessible inscriptions in the North Eastern Parishes of Fifeshire. Each cemetery has a map, which gives each gravesite a number and shows the location of it within the burial ground. Then each headstone is transcribed in full (in number order).
