Compiled to be distributed amongst the Police Force only, Police Gazettes contain details and information that can not be found anywhere else.
They include court lists, lists of warrants issued, appointments and changes in the Police Service, lists of arrests and discharges and descriptions, inquest verdicts, lost or stolen items, missing stock animals, escaped prisoners and missing persons. Notices from Police Gazettes from other states are also often included.

Features to highlight in this year's worth of issues that out of the 639 pages, there would easily be several hundred that list those applying and holding current licences (treasury, Justices of the Peace, victuallers, wine sellers, billiards, bagatelle and packet to name a few). Also included are monthly supplements from the Queensland Government Gazette that list the Brands, together with the brand holders.
If you had ancestors in Queensland that own horses or cattle this is a this is a unique, but incredibly useful source for genealogical information.
What is a horse and cattle brand? Those who had
horses or cattle, branded them with a unique symbol and/or letters. This
identified who the animal/s belonged to. These supplements contain the names, address of many thousands of such brands for those in Queensland in 1902.
Fascinating searching and useful information for anyone interested in Queensland’s history and people. Now searchable, these Gazettes on CD-ROM open up a world of interesting and comprehensive information about individual people and their lives in Queensland.
High quality scanned images of the whole years worth of issues. This CD has been bookmarked for easy
navigation, and pages can be searched, browsed, enlarged and printed out if required.
