This set of books is a collection of 750 contributed stories of families living in Queensland before its separation from New South Wales in December 1859. The collection includes an index file enabling rapid searching of the text of all files and linking to search results, and an introduction which covers publication details, foreword, and brief history of the Moreton Bay region 1824-1859 and tips on searching.
It greatly extends the QFHS earlier book of 50 such stories publishers to celebrate Australia's bicentenary in 1988 and complements the QFHS pre-separation name index, produced at the same time, to 75 primary research sources.
By describing the origins, lives and descendants of so many people from all walks of life the stories collectively make an absorbing and invaluable research resource for anyone interested in this period of Queensland's history as well as in the families mentioned.
